Description: This feature class has been created by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) Resource Markets geospatial team primarily from data sourced from Te Tari Whakatau. It is intended to be published as part of a group layer containing Iwi Relationship Agreements, Energy and Resources Accords, and Crown Minerals Protocols. This feature class contains Crown Minerals Protocols only. Iwi Relationship Agreements and Energy and Resources Accords are published separately. Boundaries are provided for those iwi who have a Deed of Settlement that includes a Crown Minerals Protocol. Boundaries for the iwi included in this layer have been sourced from Te Tari Whakatau. Boundaries are subject to a margin of error of a few hundred metres, given that the boundaries have been georeferenced from fairly low-resolution PDF scans of maps. Issues with the boundaries not aligning perfectly with the current coastline or cadastre are also present. MBIE do not consume the Te Tari Whakatau service directly, as we need to add additional attributes that are not available in the Te Tari Whakatau dataset. Protocols marked as in progress have been sourced from documents provided by the Resource Markets Minerals team.
